11) Harihar Fort – 

           Harihar fort, situated in the Sahyadri range, is one of the famous forts in Nashik district. This fort is very famous for tourism. Breaking from easy to medium range for climbing, this fort is definitely a great option for trekking. Harihargad is known for its steep steps. It is seen that these steep steps have been made by climbing the hill to climb the fort.

      The steps seem to be very beautiful and very thoughtful. Each step has an angle of 60 degrees. If you look at the end of the fort from the base, these steps seem to reach the sky at 80 degrees. 10) Lohagad Fort –

      As an important aspect, the forts were built in order to give protection or may say guard the important trading routes. Those which belong to ancient times, which guarded the routes of Sahyadri include Shivneri, Rajgad, and many others. From Satawahan, period, Lohagad has been one of the most important forts in maharashtra.

9) Torna Fort – 

      This fort was the first to enter the Swarajya established by Shivaji Maharaj. Torna is located in the Sahyadri Range in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The average height of the fort is 1403 meters. Torna is a mountain fort and is a great option for trekking. The range of climbing is moderate so even those who are trekking for the first time can do this trek.

        As the distance of the fort from Pune is only 67 km, there are not many difficulties in traveling. But despite being close to the city, the fort is situated in a scenic environment. 8) Sinhgad Fort –

      Sinhagad is a fort located at a distance of 35 km from Pune in the eastern range of the Sahyadri. The former name of this fort was Kondhana. The fort is known for its war between the Marathas and the Mughals. Subhedar Tanhaji died while fighting on this fort. Shivaji Maharaj took possession of this fort in 1947 and made it a military base.

      Later in the Treaty of Purandar, this fort went to the Mughals. Shivaji Maharaj & his childhood friend Subhedar Tanhaji Malusare and Mavalas together brought Sinhagad back to Swarajya. Since Sinhagad is close to Pune city, many tourists visit this fort. On holidays, the fort is crowded with tourists and trekkers. There are many places to see on the fort. The beauty of the surroundings of the fort is breathtaking. Also, the view of the city from the fort is very beautiful.

7) Prabalgad / Kalavantin Durg – 

        Prabalgad is also popularly known as Pradhangad, Muranjan, and Prabalmachi. Muranjan was its old name, which was soon changed under Chatrapati Shivaji’s rule. Every fort has its own history and mystery too. But in the end, the one common point that lies behind these all forts is that these all forts have lived the royalty.

      Kalavantin Durg is located in the Western Ghats in Raigad district of Maharashtra State. It is not the main fort; it is a summit that may be useful to monitor the ancient port of Panvel and Kalyan. Kalvantin is one of the most thrilling forts in the world. 6) Shivneri Fort – 

      The golden moment in history is the Shivneri fort where Shivaji Maharaj was born. Shivneri is located in the city of Junnar in the Pune district of Maharashtra. The height of the fort is about 3500 feet. The Government of India inaugurated this fort on 26th May. Declared as a National Protected Monument in Maharashtra in 1909. This fort is in very good condition as compared to other forts. There doesn’t seem to be much of a fall. The government has also tried to maintain the fort as much as possible.

5) Daulatabad Fort (Devgiri) – 

         Daulatabad Fort is a Yadav fort in the Aurangabad district in the state of Maharashtra. The fort dates back to the 14th century and was earlier known as Devagiri. King Bhillam Yadav built this fort. This fort was rich in prestige and opulence. Later the fort came under the control of the Mughals and was renamed Daulatabad.

4) Harishchandragad –

3) Rajgad Fort –

2) Sindhudurg Fort –
